The news comes via the official Fortnite blog, which reveals that the in-game Icon Radio station will air songs from over 30 artists featuring in the Coachella 2022 lineup. Players will be able to access this when driving any vehicle around the island.
The other part of the crossover is focused on cosmetic items coming to the Item Shop. There are two waves coming, the first beginning today, April 14 at 8pm ET.
In this first wave, players will be able to get the Wilder and Lyric skins plus matching accessories shown in the screenshots below.
Both skins will come with a ‘Cosmic Equalizer’ alt style which is reactive to music in the game, and the Lyric outfit’s Swaguaro Back Bling and Festival Shredder Pickaxe also get this nifty little reactive animation.
Both skins, back blings and harvesters in the first drop will be available individually or together as part of the Rocking at Coachella Bundle.
The second wave of Fortnite Coachella skins will go live in the Item Shop on Thursday, April 21 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT and will include the Alto and Poet outfits, both of which are also music reactive.
Like the first wave skins, players will be able to get both the Alto and Poet outfits, their back blings, the Softest Electropalm Pickaxe, Cactical Crusher Pickaxe and Mainstage wrap individually or together in the Dancing at Coachella Bundle.
This second bundle will also include the Enter the Coachellaverse Loading Screen.
Epic Games hasn’t yet announced pricing for the bundles or individual cosmetics.
